Brain Control Center

The part of the brain that GNM says controls a given organ — brainstem, cerebellum, cerebral medulla, or cerebral cortex — determined by the embryonic germ layer that organ came from.

A brain control center is, in German New Medicine, the region of the brain the framework says is in charge of a particular organ or tissue. It is one of the standing fields in every GNM chart entry, sitting directly beneath the germ layer — you will see lines like "Embryonic germ layer: new mesoderm / Brain control center: cerebral medulla."

The two fields are printed together because GNM claims they are not independent. Under the Ontogenetic System, which of the four regions controls a tissue follows from which of the germ layers that tissue developed from, in the order the brain itself is said to have evolved:

  • Endoderm → brainstem. The oldest layer and the oldest brain region: the organs of the digestive tube, plus glands such as the pineal and the anterior pituitary.
  • Old mesoderm → cerebellum. The protective linings and the corium skin: pleura, peritoneum, pericardium, breast glands, eyelid glands.
  • New mesoderm → cerebral medulla. Bone, muscle, connective tissue, and the organs GNM groups with self-devaluation themes.
  • Ectoderm → cerebral cortex. The outermost layer, controlled from the cortex and named more precisely in charts as the sensory cortex, the post-sensory cortex, the motor cortex, or the temporal lobes, depending on the tissue.

The framework treats the mapping as diagnostic in both directions. Knowing the tissue is said to tell you where in the brain to look; knowing the region is said to tell you which family of conflicts to ask about, since GNM assigns each region its own conflict themes and its own phase behaviour — old-brain tissues building cells during conflict activity, cortex-controlled tissues losing them.

There is also a crossover rule: for most cortex- and cerebellum-controlled organs, the right side of the body is described as being controlled from the left hemisphere and vice versa, which is why laterality enters GNM's readings at all.
