1. Overview

ChatGNM (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the chatgnm.ai website and AI chat service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address for authentication via magic link sign-in. We do not collect passwords.

Conversation data. Messages you send and receive through the chat interface are stored to provide continuity across sessions. This includes symptom descriptions, life context you share, and AI-generated responses.

Memory data. With your consent, we extract and store key facts from your conversations (symptoms, demographics, context) to personalize future interactions. You can view, manage, and delete your stored memories at any time from the Memories page.

Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with the service, including credit usage, session frequency, and feature usage. This data is used for service improvement and billing.

Payment information. If you purchase a subscription or credits, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full billing details. We retain your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the chat service
To personalize your experience using stored memories and conversation history
To process payments and manage your subscription
To send transactional emails (magic links, billing receipts)
To improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns
To enforce our terms of service and prevent abuse

4. AI Processing

Your messages are sent to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) for processing. These providers process your messages to generate responses but do not use your data to train their models when accessed via API. We select providers that offer data processing agreements appropriate for handling personal information.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security ensuring that only you can access your own conversations and memories. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

Conversation data and memories are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual conversations or memories at any time. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Access: View all your stored data through the app (conversations, memories, billing history)
Deletion: Delete individual conversations, memories, or your entire account
Portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
Opt out of memory: Delete all stored memories to stop personalization

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions. We also use the following analytics services to understand how visitors use our site and to improve the experience:

Google Analytics (GA4): Collects page views, engagement metrics, and conversion funnel data. Google may use this data as described in their Privacy Policy.
PostHog: Records anonymous browsing sessions (clicks, page navigation, text entered in chat) to help us understand user journeys. Session recordings are stored by PostHog and subject to their Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of analytics tracking by enabling Do Not Track in your browser settings. We honor DNT signals and will not load analytics when it is enabled.

9. Children's Privacy

ChatGNM is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
